The technological developments in today’s computing andcommunication have led to the emergence of a new computingparadigm called edge computing, which delivers computingservices to users as utilities in a pay-as-you-go mannerthrough pervasive Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices and facilities. The edge computing paradigm offers us with sound engineeringprinciples and techniques to cope with the complexity ofsoftware-intensive systems.The increasing pervasion and importance of edge computingand IoTapplications have exposed its fragility and vulnerabilities. Although the research in trustworthy edge computing has made tremendous progress in recent years, national infrastructure, corporations and individuals still suffer from bugs, faults, failures, errors, instability, software/hardware aging, and other trustworthiness-related issues. This special issue aims at providing an in-depth discussion of the latest research findingsin novel models and modeling techniques for trustworthy edge computing. This issue is concerned with how model-driven (formal, stochastic, optimal-control, verification, etc.) approaches can be used to address the trustworthiness issues of edge computing.
Yong Ma works as aprofessor at the School of Computer and information Engineering. He is also with the School of Artificial Intelligence, Jiangxi Normal University. His main research interests are Cloud Computing, Edge Computing and Artificial Intelligent Internet of Things (AIoT) . Moreover, he has published more than 20 papers on top international conferences and journals, and acquired 26innovation patents in recent years.
Yunni Xia works as aprofessor at the School of Computers with Chongqing University. His main research interests are Service Computing, Edge Computing and Mobile computing. He is a senor-member of IEEE.
