Keywords: 5G, 5G-Green Network, SDN, NFV
Summary:
In the present era, wired networks have become very flexible as more and more functions are being performed using software rather than dedicated hardware. This trend is still in its infancy for wireless networks, but it has the potential to improve network flexibility and resource utilization, both in terms of the abundant computing resources and the limited resources of the radio spectrum. This workshop will give an overview of the activation technologies for network reconfiguration, e.g., network function virtualization, software-network, and radio by software definition. Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) roles have helped achieve the “black box to white box” transition and drive-to-drive 5G network architecture. Some of the major innovations and developments focused on NFV and SDN technology have taken place over the past few years, but some issues of theoretical and practical importance remain unresolved. Therefore, this chapter covers issues related to optimization, network management, and security aspects ranging from SDN and NFV architecture and implementation to SDN-NFV integration and bandwidth for 5G Green Communication.
